The National Assembly approved changes to the composition of several standing committees on Friday. The committees and their leaderships were originally elected on June 4.

Petar Vitanov of Progressive Bulgaria was relieved of his membership in the Committee on Labour, Social and Demographic Policy and was replaced by Aleksandra Angelakova of the same parliamentary group. Galya Vasileva of GERB-UDF also joined the committee. Vasileva took the oath as a Member of Parliament on Wednesday, replacing late Luben Dilov Jr.

Vasileva was also elected to the Committee on Culture and Media. As a result, GERB-UDF now has only one of its four allocated committee seats still vacant.

Aleksandra Angelakova was released from the Committee on Direct Citizen Participation and Interaction with Civil Society and was replaced by Petar Vitanov.

Mesut Rushid of Progressive Bulgaria was relieved of his membership in the Committee on Human Rights, Religions and Citizens' Complaints. Georgi Kunchev of Progressive Bulgaria was elected to take his place.

Kunchev, in turn, was released from the Committee on Policies for Bulgarians Abroad, where he was replaced by Mesut Rushid.
