Dara is further proof that Bulgaria can win, Prime Minister Rumen Radev wrote on his official Facebook profile on Sunday after Bulgaria won this year’s edition of Eurovision. The country will host the next edition of the song contest, while this year Bulgaria was represented by singer Dara.

“A Bulgarian victory with global resonance - this is what Darina Yotova brought us at Eurovision,” Prime Minister Radev added. “Congratulations to the girl who, with her talent and professionalism, broke through all the complex considerations and prejudices of the voting,” he also wrote.

“Bulgaria awaits Europe and the world at Eurovision 2027,” Radev said.

The Prime Minister also congratulated the entire team that contributed to the victory, as well as Bulgarian National Television, which broadcast the contest.

Dara won the contest with a total of 516 points. She received 312 points from the public vote and 204 points from the international jury, bringing Bulgaria its first victory in Eurovision history and securing the country the hosting rights for the next edition of the contest.
