The third Sofia Zoo Expo 2026 opened at the Inter Expo Centre on Friday, bringing together business representatives, animal lovers, and international participants from the pet care sector. The forum, organized by Animalia, runs from April 17 to 19 and has significantly expanded in scale this year. Over 60 companies participate in the exhibition, representing more than 200 brands, with exhibitors from Turkiye, Romania, Germany, Poland, and the Netherlands. For the first time, the exhibition spreads across two halls.

At the start of the official ceremony, organizer Deyan Lipchev from Animalia welcomed the exhibitors and guests, saying that this year’s edition is the largest to date. He noted that the expansion of the exhibition and the international participation are indicative of the sector’s development in Bulgaria and the growing interest in the event.

During the opening, representatives of partner companies also addressed the attendees, highlighting the opportunities for establishing new contacts and business development.

The first day of Sofia Zoo Expo 2026 is dedicated to business and includes presentations and panel discussions on the development of the industry, new trends in online pet product retail, and innovations in veterinary medicine. Presentations by international brands are also scheduled, along with opportunities to establish new partnerships.

Over the weekend, the exhibition will be open to the public. Visitors will be able to participate in demonstrations, interactive presentations, and pet training sessions, as well as view displays of various dog and cat breeds.

Highlights include a parrot show, grooming demonstrations, children’s contests, educational lectures, and special zones with workshops and games. The programme also features an encounter with Harry Potter’s owl, as well as aquarium and terrarium exhibits.
