Knowledge is memory, but knowledge is also a bridge between generations, Varna University of Management Rector Prof. Krasimira Staneva said during the closing conference held here on Monday. The event was part of BTA’s Europe on Balkans: Cohesion Skills project.

"In our university, we try to create and maintain this bridge between generations with the help of European funds," she emphasized, adding that two areas stand out in the portfolio of the Varna University of Management. One is shared knowledge, and the other is innovation.

“In this portfolio, I can highlight a number of projects that have been successfully implemented. But what is important is the added value. And we find it in the modernization of our material base. We have the most modern kitchen equipment at a highly professional level, which allows the Culinary Institute at the university to successfully present itself on the world podium in culinary arts,” Staneva stated.

She recalled that the higher school has supported the creation of the First Gourmet Festival in Varna. “This was an absolute hit and set an example of how the education and knowledge that is shared at the univeristy is implemented in a real working environment,” she noted. “Students actively participate in our research activities, which are funded by various project programs,” Staneva added, noting that students who study at the Varna University of Management, as well as at the campuses in Dobrich and Sofia, can work anywhere in the world.

BTA's Europe on Balkans: Cohesion Skills project aims to raise public awareness and foster open dialogue about cohesion policy, local achievements, and the implementation of the EU's policy priorities. The project kicked off with a conference in Veliki Preslav in November 2024. The project builds on the Europe in the Balkans: A Common Future and Europe in Bulgaria: A Common Future projects, implemented by BTA in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
