site.btaBorder Traffic Update
There is heavy truck traffic at some of Bulgaria's border control checkpoints with Romania and Turkiye, Border Police said on their website.
At the border with Romania, there is heavy outbound truck traffic at the Kardam checkpoint. Temporary traffic changes have been introduced across the Danube Bridge at Ruse due to major repairs on the Bulgarian section of the bridge, Border Police recalled. Traffic is restricted to one lane and is regulated by traffic lights. Drivers can take alternative routes through the checkpoints at Silistra, Kardam, Durankulak, Kaynardzha, and Krushari. The last two of these are closed to trucks and are open to passenger cars from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
At the Bulgarian-Turkish border, traffic is very heavy for trucks exiting this country through the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint. Traffic through the Malko Tarnovo border crossing will be temporarily carried out in one lane due to reconstruction works.
Traffic is normal at all checkpoints at the border with Greece. Only cars and vans are allowed to pass through the Makaza, Zlatograd, and Ivaylovgrad border crossing points.
Traffic is also normal at all checkpoints at the borders with Serbia and the Republic of North Macedonia.
