Turkish rescue teams have carried out a successful operation to rescue four foreign tourists, including from Bulgaria, who were stranded in the Soganli Mountains, Bayburt province, northern Turkiye, the Anadolu news agency said.

The four tourists from Bulgaria, Belgium and Finland, who wanted to reach the tourist centre of Uzungöl in Trabzon province via the Soganli mountain, were blocked because their car got stuck in snow.

After authorities were notified of the situation, rescue teams including gendarmerie personnel and the Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) were dispatched to the area.

The tourists were rescued after a rescue operation lasting several hours. Their health condition is good, the Haberler website said.
