VMRO-DPMNE's candidate for president Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova leads Stevo Pendarovski, supported by the ruling Social Democrats (SDSM), in the upcoming presidential elections, a poll shows. Siljanovska-Davkova's lead is almost double.

Asked who they would vote for, over 20% of respondents said it would be Siljanovska-Davkova, while 10.9% would back Pendarovski; 33.9 percent thought the winner of the election would be the VMRO-DPMNE candidate, and 18.4 percent said Pendarovski would win a second presidential term.

According to the poll, in the race between the presidential candidates put forward by the Albanian political parties in the country, 7.9% of the citizens would vote for the candidate of the DSI, Bujar Osmani, and 5.8% would support the candidate of the Albanian opposition parties, Arben Taravari.

The presidential candidate of the ZNAM movement, Maksim Dimitrievski, has the support of 6.9% of the citizens polled, 5.1% said they did not know who they would vote for, and 22.3% said they would not vote.

Interest in the first round of presidential elections on April 24 is high, with 72.1% of respondents saying they will vote for the country's president, and 66.6% of respondents saying they are ready to vote for the parliamentary elections to be held on May 8, along with the second round of presidential elections.

The survey is representative for North Macedonia. It was conducted from March 15 to 24 by telephone among 1,200 respondents, and the statistical error is 3%.
