Croatian police are investigating a total of 11 people in six separate cases from last Thursday to Monday on suspicion of illegally trafficking 117 migrants in Karlovac county, Croatia, Croatian television HRT reported, citing information from the local police department.

On August 10, police officers in the town of Slun, central Croatia, stopped to check a car with Bulgarian registration driven by a 60-year-old Bulgarian who was carrying six foreign nationals. During the investigation it was found that two days earlier the foreign nationals had crossed the Croatian border illegally with the help of a 56-year-old Bulgarian citizen.

The other cases under investigation involve Croatian nationals and ones from Romania, Kazakhstan, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
