To this day we have no official notification that the Republic of North Macedonia has a blacklist of Bulgarians with no permission for entry on its territory, said caretaker Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov on Wednesday, after he was asked about the so-called "black lists" during the meeting of the Parliamentary committee on foreign policy.

Minister Kondov noted that at the beginning of May the ambassador of North Macedonia in Bulgaria Agneza Popovska was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in connection with the non-admission of Bulgarian citizens on the territory of North Macedonia on May 6, including MEP Andrey Kovatchev. Minister Kondov added that Ambassador Popovska had been handed a protest note.

In his words, only guesses could be made on whether such a list exists.

Certainly, the documents that these Bulgarian citizens, including Andrey Kovatchev, have received suggest that there is one somewhere, whether official or unofficial, Minister Kondov said, adding that the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry has not officially received such a list and is now aware of its existence and contents.
