site.btaTaraclia District Establishes Ties with Bulgarians in Hungary


The authorities in Taraclia District, the centre of Bulgarians in Moldova, want to establish socio-economic and cultural ties with Hungarian Bulgarians. To this end, Taraclia District Vice President Alexandr Borimecicov, Bulgarian Community in the Republic of Moldova Chair Gheorghii Barbarov and the heads of the Education and Economic Departments held an online meeting with Dancso Muszev, President of the Bulgarian Republican Self-Government in Hungary, Association of Ethnic Bulgarians in Hungary President Dimiter Tanev and Hungarian politician of Bulgarian origin Szimeon Varga, among others, the Taraclia District administration said.
The participants discussed the study of Bulgarian by Bulgarians abroad, the facilities and maintenance of educational establishments, dance and music groups and theatre activities. The Bulgarians from Moldova and Hungary also talked about the construction of a Bulgarian Cultural and Education Centre in Budapest and its financing by the Hungarian government and about the Hungarian legislation on national minorities.
The sides agreed to make further plans for cooperation and exchange of experience at a bilateral working meeting in Budapest.
