site.bta5.3 Magnitude Quake in Southern Turkish Province of Kahramanmaras


An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter Scale was registered in the southern Turkish province of Kahramanmaras at 12:19 pm on Thursday. According to information of the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), the quake was epicentred in Goksun at a depth of 7 km.
Two quakes followed with a magnitude of 4 and 4.2 on the Richter Scale, respectively.
There is no information about injured people, AFAD reported. It has dispatched teams to assess whether damages have occurred.
Kahramanmaras was the epicenter of the deadly earthquakes of February 6. Secondary quakes still continue in many parts of the country.
