President Rumen Radev and his wife Desislava Radeva were welcomed with an official ceremony by Montenegrin head of State Milo Djukanovic and his wife at the presidential residence in the historic Montenegrin capital of Cetinje.
Radev and Djukanovic will discuss the European perspective of Montenegro, as well as the deepening of bilateral cooperation in the economy, education, science, innovation and technology, partnership in the field of security and defence, regional cooperation in Southeast Europe.
Radev and his wife arrived on Sunday in Podgorica on an official visit at Djukanovic's invitation.
Plenary talks between the official delegations are also scheduled for Monday, after which the two heads of state will hold a joint press conference.
The Bulgarian President will meet later on Monday with the Speaker of the Montenegrin Parliament, Daniela Djurovic, as well as with Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic.
On Monday, President Radev will open the exhibition "Montenegro and Bulgaria 1878-1918", which is a joint project of the state archives of Bulgaria and Montenegro. It presents historical documents related to the bilateral relations between the two countries from the period 1878-1918 and represents the long-lasting ties between the two countries and peoples.
