September 16 (BTA) - President Rumen Radev conferred with
International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) President Morinari
Watanabe, Radev's press secretariat said on Sunday. At the
meeting the Bulgarian head of State said that the three world
championships hosted by Bulgaria in September are an opportunity
for more young people to be attracted to sports. Watanabe is in
Bulgaria for the 36th FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World
Championships that took place in Sofia.
The FIG President said that the Bulgarian traditions and school
of coaching in rhythmic gymnastics have contributed in the
promotion and popularity of the sport worldwide.
The meeting was also attended by Iliana Raeva, President of the
Bulgarian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics and of the
Organizing Committee of the 36th FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World
Championships, and Maria Petrova, Vice President of Bulgarian
Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics and 2018 Rhythmic Gymnastics
