Sofia, September 16 (BTA) - The Bulgarian group rhythmic gymnastics team won the gold medal for its hoops routine at the 36th FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships which ended in Sofia on Sunday. The team placed sixth in the three balls and two ropes final.

The final standings in the group finals:
Five hoops
1. Bulgaria - 23.300 points
2. Japan - 22.800 pts.
3. Italy - 22.550 pts.
4. Russia - 20.325 pts.
5. Azerbaijan - 20.100 pts.
6. France - 19.700 pts.
7. Ukraine - 19.500 pts.
8. Belarus - 18.600 pts.

Three balls and two ropes
1. Italy - 22.550 pts.
2. Russia - 22.200 pts.
3. Ukraine - 21.400 pts.
4. Japan - 21.350 pts.
5. Belarus - 20.950 pts.
6. Bulgaria - 20.750 pts.
7. Azerbaijan - 20.400 pts.
8. Spain - 19.800 pts.

The championships were closed by International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) President Morinari Watanabe.

The Bulgarian gymnasts won one gold medal (group, five hoops), one silver (team, all-around), and one bronze (group, all-round). Also, the Bulgarians earned a quota for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. The teams of Russia and Italy too earned Olympic quotas. RY/ZH //
