November 16 (BTA) - Vice President Iliana Iotova met with
her Iranian counterpart Ali Asghar Mounesan here on Friday, the
head of State's press secretariat reported. They discussed ways
to deepen the bilateral contacts in the areas of tourism,
cultural heritage and traditional crafts.

The guest proposed exchange of experience and good practices.

Iotova said that there is a lot of untapped potential in the
relations between Bulgaria and the Islamic Republic of Iran. She
also said that to increase the tourist flow between the two
countries, infrastructural and transport connections need to be
improved.

The Iranian Vice-President described as very good Iotova's
proposal that the first tourist routes to be set up between
their two countries should connect their ancient capitals.
According to Iotova, these routes can include the Western Balkan
countries, with Bulgaria as a natural centre of this
cooperation.

It transpired at the meeting that the 19th session of the Joint
Bulgarian-Iranian Commission on Economic, Scientific and
Technical Cooperation will be held soon, and that the 1967
cultural agreement between Bulgaria and Iran will be signed for
a new three-year period.

Ali Asghar Mounesan thanked Bulgaria for its support for the
Iran nuclear deal. "The will of the EU and Bulgaria as a Member
State is firm: the conditions of this deal should be observed,"
Iotova said.
