The University of National and World Economy (UNWE) became the first Bulgarian university to receive the LIK typeface for free use after signing a permanent partnership agreement with the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) here on Monday.

"This will be BTA's thirty-ninth partnership agreement with a Bulgarian university. I would like to remind you that one of BTA's first contracts, in 2021 when we started this practice, was with UNWE. At that time, however, its scope was limited to the completion of BTA internships for university students. We are now renewing this partnership in an expanded form. The new contract also provides for a partnership in celebration of the 105th anniversary of UNWE," said BTA Director General Kiril Valchev.

Valchev stressed that the new contract with UNWE provides for the systematic provision of information from the university, which the BTA will publish in Bulgarian and English. In addition, the possibility of internships for university students is again envisaged.

"We also see the benefits of such a collaboration between UNWE and BTA, two institutions with centuries of history, they are also benefits for the whole society," said the UNWE Rector.

"We are proud to introduce a truly Bulgarian typeface in our administration," said Prof. Dimitrov. The BTA Director General recalled that the LIK typeface was created specifically for BTA by a team from the National Academy of Arts.

The Bulgarian News Agency launched its own typeface on the day it marked 127 years since the publication of its first bulletin, February 16.
