site.btaEconomy Ministry Signs Memorandum with Chinese City of Ningbo
June 9 (BTA) - The Bulgarian Economy 
Ministry and the Municipal People's Government of the Chinese 
seaport of Ningbo signed a memorandum of cooperation to boost 
trade and economic relations. Economy Minister Emil Karanikolov 
and Zheng Shanjie, Secretary of the Ningbo Municipal Committee 
of the Communist Party of China, affixed their signatures to the
 memorandum, Karanikolov's ministry reported on Sunday.
The Bulgarian Economy Minister is leading a business delegation 
representing about 20 Bulgarian companies which are taking part 
in the annual China-CEEC Investment and Trade Expo in Ningbo 
(CEEC stands for Central and Eastern European Countries). This 
year, the Bulgarian exhibitors present mainly foods, 
agricultural products, wine, mineral water and cosmetics.
The new memorandum lays particular emphasis on promoting Chinese
 investments in Bulgarian industrial zones.
In a follow-up development, Bulgaria's National Company for 
Industrial Zones signed a memorandum with the Zhejiang Cixi 
Coastal Economic Development Zone.
While in Ningbo, Minister Karanikolov toured the Bulgarian 
booths at the China-CEEC Expo and unveiled an exhibition of 
paintings by Bulgarian and Chinese artists at the City Library. 
The exhibition has been occasioned by the 70th anniversary of 
Bulgarian-Chinese diplomatic relations. RY/VE
