site.btaAnti-Corruption Commission Finds no Fault with Politicians' Real Estates Deals

June 24 (BTA) - The Counter-Corruption and Unlawfully
Acquired Assets Forfeiture Commission (CCUAAFC) has found no
breaches in the checks it conducted into real estate ownership
of former GERB floor leader Tsvetan Tsvetanov, Tourism Minister
Nikolina Angelkova, former justice minister Tsetska Tsacheva,
former deputy Sports Minister Vanya Koleva, former deputy energy
minister Krassimir Purvanov, MP Vezhdi Rashidov, and Supreme
Cassation Court President Lozan Panov, according to a decision
of CCUAAFC published on the Commission's website on Monday.

The probes against the politicians were prompted by media
reports in April about real estates purchased by them at
below-market prices which escalated in a full-blown political
scandal that led to the resignations of Tsvetanov, Tsacheva,
Koleva, and Purvanov.

Concerning the probe against Lozan Panov, CCUAAFC decided that
the alert against him will be referred to the Inspectorate of
the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) as the tip-off alleges
malfeasance in office and breaches of the integrity requirements
of the SJC concerning judiciary officials. RY/ZH
