The newly appointed Ambassador of India to Bulgaria, Arun Kumar Sahu, presented copies of his credentials to Bulgaria’s Deputy Foreign Minister Nevyana Miteva, the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction that the long-standing relations of traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and close partnership between Bulgaria and India are on the upgrade. They also expressed readiness to further deepen these relations in various areas, including trade and economic exchange, science, technology, defence, security and culture.

In this context, the sides concurred on the importance of political dialogue and the expansion of the legal framework, and committed to work on top- and high-level visits. The crucial role of the EU-India Strategic Partnership was also emphasized, along with the further strengthening of exchange between the EU and the world’s largest democracy.
