Sofia, August 5 (BTA) - The prosecutors' college in the Supreme Judicial Council Monday reinstated in the specialized prosecuting magistracy former head of the of the Counter-Corruption and Unlawfully Acquired Assets Forfeiture Commission (CCUAAFC) Plamen Georgiev, who resigned from the post on July 31. Georgiev's reinstatement was supported unanimously by the eight participants in the extraordinary meeting of the prosecutors' college. The meeting, which was not attended by Prosecutor General Sotir Tsatsarov, lasted only five minutes.

Georgiev resigned from his post at the CCUAAFC a few months after the so called "Terrace Gate" scandal erupted, which concerns his Sofia apartment's huge terrace and barbecue area, as well as discrepancies surrounding its legality and proper declaration. A check is ongoing into the matter.

Georgiev meanwhile said that a check of the National Revenue Agency into his incomes had not found any problems.

Georgiev last worked as a prosecutor in 2011, when he had a short appointment in the specialized prosecuting magistracy. IG/ZH//
