Continue the Change co-leader Kiril Petkov has given up his immunity as an MP, the parliamentary press office confirmed for BTA Tuesday.

He did exactly as he said he would after the prosecution service announced Monday that they had asked Parliament to strip him of his MP's immunity on suspicions that he overstepped his powers in the March 2022 arrest of GERB leader and former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. Petkov said in a Facebook post that he would give up his immunity on Tuesday. Also, he said that the motion to strip him of immunity was entirely the doing of Movement for Rights and Freedoms - New Beginning leader Delyan Peevski.
