Parliament Chair to Initiate Process of Electing Members of Bodies with Expired Mandates

National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova said in Parliament on Tuesday that once the parliamentary committees get set up, she will coordinate with their chairs to compose a timetable for the procedures for the election of bodies and members of bodies with expired or terminated mandate and of non-constituted bodies.

Tuesday's extraordinary parliamentary sitting began with Kiselova reading out a list of such bodies that require voting from the National Assembly.

Among the bodies to be elected by MPs are: the Commission for Personal Data Protection and the Commission for Protection of Competition, the Inspector General and 10 inspectors with the Inspectorate of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), 11 SJC members, Chair of the Financial Supervision Commission, head and deputy of the National Social Security Institute, two deputy chairs and two members of the Bulgarian National Audit Office at the suggestion of its Chair, Chair and two members of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission, Deputy Chair of the Unlawfully Acquired Assets Forfeiture Commission and, at their suggestion, Deputy Chair and three members of the Commission, three members of the Counter-Corruption Commission, Ombudsman and, at their suggestion, Deputy Ombudsman.
