site.btaVazrazhdane Leader Kostadinov Sends Letter of Support to Romania's Calin Georgescu

Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov sent a letter to Calin Georgescu [who surprisingly won the first round of the November 24 presidential elections in Romania] expressing his support for him, the party's press office said on Monday.

Kostadinov wrote that the events in Romania [On December 6 Romania's Constitutional Court decided to annul the first round and demanded that the whole election process start again] is a murder of democracy and a demonstration of how democrats treat democracy. Kostadinov is adamant that this dangerous precedent must be stopped, because it opens the door to the destruction of democratic principles in Europe through the violation of the will of the voters and the application of such totalitarian practices.

The Vazrazhdane leader also writes that in order to stop this, it is good for the advocates of national sovereignty to be united and to act together against the undemocratic actions of the supposedly democratic status quo.

On Friday, Vazrazhdane’s MEPs and members of Europe of Sovereign Nations took a stand in defence of democracy and initiated a debate in the European Parliament on the issue, the release said.
