site.btaMRF - New Beginning Leader Peevski Says 2025 State Budget Should Have Enough Money for Teachers, Police, Military, Athletes and Artists

Reiterating his call for new snap elections, MRF - New Beginning leader Delyan Peevski said on Monday the current National Assembly has only one task: to adopt the 2025 state budget and the budgets of public social insurance and health insurance in order to guarantee security and financial stability in Bulgaria. The implementation of this task should not be compromised by retaliatory tactics and narrow partisan interests, Peevski said in a media statement released by his party.

He said the MPs should not delay the wage increases legislated for school and university teachers and employees of the Interior Ministry and Defence Ministry systems, due on January 1. "It would also be irresponsible to cut the budget for the performing arts and art schools in the sector of culture," he added. "Furthermore, the state budget should do justice to the athletes who bring glory for Bulgaria with their achievements, so that they can train in adequate conditions and a proper environment."

Peevski urged the MPs to show responsibility for the most vulnerable groups. He noted that the present National Assembly is compromised in the eyes of the people.
