The first sitting of Parliament resumed on Friday. The MPs gathered to make another - fifth - attempt at electing their Chair. "We are proceeding to a new round of nominations and voting, according to the adopted procedural rules," said There Is Such a People MP Silvi Kirilov, who chaired the session.

Before the start of the session, CC-DB co-leader Kiril Petkov called on GERB-UDF to withdraw their candidate Raya Nazaryan, because, in his words, she collected the most negative votes of all the nominations.

"If it comes to a run-off for parliament speaker, we will support Silvi Kirilov", said Alliance for Rights and Freedoms MP Dzhevdet Chakarov before the meeting.
