Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan decreed the appointment of new governors in 16 of the country's 81 provinces, CNN Turk reported. The decree is published in the Official Gazette.
No reasons have been cited for the appointments.
The new governors will serve in the provinces of Kirklareli, Manisa, Sirnak, Artvin, Gumushane, Konya, Amasya, Corum, Burdur, Karaman, Isparta, Sakarya, Bitlis, Kirsehir, Bolu and Usak.
