BTA’s Svetlana Dragneva Receives Award for Efforts in Promoting Bulgarian Culture

Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) correspondent Svetlana Dragneva received a traditional award for her contributions in promoting Bulgarian culture abroad by a Bulgarian language media at the 19th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media on Wednesday. The award is provided by the 13 Centuries of Bulgaria National Endowment Fund and recognizes Dragneva's significant contributions in this field.

The Chair of the Council for Electronic Media (CEM), Gabriela Naplatanova, presented the award at the BTA National Press Club in Odesa, Ukraine. BTA Director General Kiril Valchev praised the journalist for her exceptional reporting from Odesa through this perilous period, highlighting her role in keeping Bulgaria informed about events at the theatre of war.

"This comes as a huge surprise! I am deeply grateful to Bulgaria and to BTA. It is an honour to serve the Bulgarian cause," Dragneva said, accepting the award.

All attendees at the meeting were presented with gifts, including Istoriya Slavyanobolgarskaya (Slavic-Bulgarian history) by Saint Paisius of Hilendar, and the Fish Primer (Primer with Various Instructions) by Petar Beron.

BTA is organizing the 19th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media in Odesa, Bolhrad, and Izmail, Ukraine, from June 18 to June 21, 2024. The event is taking place with the support of Aurubis Bulgaria, A1, Glavbolgarstroy Holding AD, Euroins Insurance Group, Postbank, SOF Connect, and the 13 Centuries of Bulgaria National Endowment Fund.
