site.btaSculptor Ivan Rusev Celebrates 70th Anniversary

An exhibition at the Arte Gallery is among the events with which Ivan Rusev will celebrate his 70th anniversary. The exhibition "White" consisting of sculpture and drawings can be viewed from June 18 to July 5, the organizers said.

There are eleven white stone sculptures, about twenty drawings in the gallery's indoor space, and several larger sculptures in Arte's yard.

Ivan Rusev was born in 1954. He studied sculpture at the National Academy of Arts. He is the author of the series of sculptures in Sofia’s South Park - "Gods of Medicine" and the monument "Mahatma Gandhi", as well as the "Marble City of Arts" in the sculpture park Ilindentsi. He is one of the founders of the Art Center Ilindentsi Foundation.
