During a television appearance on Thursday, VMRO leader Krasimir Karakachanov outlined the party's proposals to tackle issues in demographic, energy and healthcare areas. The party's campaign was focused on getting out the vote, the party press service shared.
He stressed the need for Bulgaria to "regain sovereignty", rejecting both pro-American and pro-Russian political projects. He advocated for policies prioritizing national interests, proposing that Bulgaria should align its political approach more closely with Viktor Orban's model, rather than that of EC President Ursula von der Leyen.
The primary goal of VMRO, according to Karakachanov, is tacking the adverse demographic trends. He put forth economic strategies to support families balancing work and study, alongside the implementation of mandatory, cost-free education up to the age of 16.
He identified the energy sector as the second and healthcare as the third priority of the VMRO campaign.
