March 21 (BTA) - The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Bulgaria has reached 163, with 30 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours and three recoveries, Major General Prof. Ventsislav Moutafchiiski MD, who heads the national COVID-19 task force, told a regular briefing on Saturday. To be considered as a recovery, a person needs to test negative for the coronavirus twice in a row, he specified.

The three persons who have recovered from COVID-19 will be given a 30-day sick leave and a recommendation to stay at home.

During the briefing, Prof. Moutafchiiski showed Bulgarian-made protective helmets to be used by medical teams treating coronavirus infectees.

Commenting on publications about varying numbers of COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria, he said that it is possible to have some patients' names duplicated when counting due to the reconfirmation of test samples from one laboratory in another.
