Sofia, April 15 (BTA) - The confirmed coronavirus cases in
Bulgaria stand at 735 as of Wednesday, the national task force
told a regular morning news conference. There are 40 new cases
in the past 24 hours and 14 of them are in hospital.

The complete recoveries stand at 105. The fatalities are 36.

The epidemic has gone into a new region: Yambol in the south of
the country.

Commenting the escape of a coronavirus patient from a hospital
in the southern town of Stara Zagora on Tuesday, the head of the
task force, Prof. Ventsislav Moutafchiiski, called for more
serious security measures in hospitals with COVID patients.

The said patient took a taxi and went home in a nearby village,
where he was later found and brought back to hospital. Six more
people with the coronavirus were subsequently found there and
the entire village was quarantined.

In Sofia, targeted testing is being done in the boroughs of
Fakoulteta and Filipovtsi, where the virus has been found. Over
200 people will be tested there over two days.

Senior care homes are closely monitored, said Prof.
Moutafchiiski. There has not been found  people with coronavirus
there, which is very fortunate, he commented. RY/LN/
