Minister of Labour and Social Policy Ivanka Shalapatova and European Labour Authority Executive Director Cosmin Boiangiu will participate in a round table discussion on the processes of the Bulgarian labour market and their impact on the trends of labour mobility and the rights of Bulgarians in the EU. The event will take place on February 26 at the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the Ministry’s press centre said on Friday.

Issues related to the challenges facing the Bulgarian labour market in the context of increasing labour mobility will be discussed during the forum.

Among the main topics of discussion will be the possibilities to ensure more effective protection of the rights of mobile workers through joint actions and exchange of information. The event will be attended by representatives of the Labour Ministry, the General Labour Inspectorate, the National Employment Agency, the National Social Security Institute, nationally representative employers' and trade union organizations, the Economic and Social Council, the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, and the Institute for Market Economics.

Boiangiu is visiting Bulgaria at the invitation of Minister Ivanka Shalapatova. Earlier on February 26, the two will meet with students from the St. Kliment Ohridski Sofia University’s Faculty of Law, the statement said.
