Hundreds of young people, teachers and parents showed interest in a campaign promoting the pursuit of higher education in Bulgaria.
The campaign toured Skopje, Bitola and Strumica. It was organized by the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science jointly with the Embassy in Sofia, the Consulate General in Bitola and the Bulgarian Culture and Information Centre in Skopje. The campaign involved 12 higher educational establishments: the Prof. Asen Diamandiev Academy of Music, Dance and Visual Arts of Plovdiv, the American University in Bulgaria of Blagoevgrad, the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy of Varna, the University of Telecommunications and Post of Sofia, the Medical University - Pleven, the Vassil Levski National Sports Academy, the St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia, the Technical University of Varna, the Trakia University of Stara Zagora, the University of National and World Economy, the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy of Sofia, and the Neofit Rilski South-West University of Blagoevgrad.
The young people from North Macedonia who consider studying in Bulgaria were familiarized with the options available, including under two Council of Ministers decrees: on educational activities among Bulgarians abroad and on the admission of citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia to public higher schools in the Republic of Bulgaria.
In early February 2024, officials of the Ministry of Education and Science and of the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad will be back to North Macedonia for another information campaign during which the procedure and terms for applying and study during the 2024-2025 academic year will be specified.
