site.bta5,837 PCR Tests Confirm 195 COVID-19 Cases, Bringing Bulgaria's Total to 13,209

August 8 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases
in Bulgaria reached 13,209 after 195 infections were confirmed
in the 24 hours until Friday midnight through 5,837 PCR tests,
according to data posted on www.coronavirus.bg. The active cases
 are 5,145.

The hospitalized patients number 857, including 55 in intensive
care.

Recoveries in the last 24 hours number 248, bringing the total
to 7,622.

Seven more fatalities were reported, bringing the total death
toll to 442.

Sofia City tops the list with 53 newly confirmed cases, followed
 by Varna with 27 and Blagoevgrad with 23. The newly confirmed
cases include 16 medical staff (6 doctors, 7 nurses and 3
orderlies), and this category now totals 745.

A total of 299,924 PCR tests have been performed since the first
 cases were diagnosed on March 8.
