Culture Ministers Krastyu Krastev of Bulgaria and Bisera Kostadinovska-Stojchevska of North Macedopnia will open an exhibition titled "Silver Thrace" in Skopje on Tuesday, Krastev's Ministry said in a press release.

The exhibition, which will be on at Skopje's Archaeological Museum until April 7, 2024, showcases over 1,700 artefacts from 18 Bulgarian museums. A presentation of archaeological finds of this scale is unprecedented in North Macedonia. It is organized by the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences' National Archeological Institute with Museum (NAIM) and is held under Kostadinovska-Stojchevska's auspices.

Visitors will be able to see a lot of silver, a little gold and silver-gilt from the times of the Thracian kings (3rd-1st c. BC). The most interesting exhibits come from the Thracian necropolis near the Duvanlii village (South Central Bulgaria), now held at Plovdiv's Regional Archaeological Museum and at NAIM, some of the important items kept at the museum in Kazanlak (Central Bulgaria), parts of the Rogozen Treasure from the National Museum of History (NMH) in Sofia and the museum in Vratsa (Northwestern Bulgaria), and the treasures of Letnitsa and Lukovit from the NMH and the NAIM. The display also include some recent and less well known finds, such as a set from  Dalakova Mogila near the Topolchani Village, on loan from the Regional Museum of History in Sliven (Southeastern Bulgaria), and a gold mask from the Svetitsata Locality near the town of Shipka (Central Bulgaria).

The official guests at the opening of the exhibition will include Bulgaria's National Assembly Chair Rosen Zhelyazkov, North Macedonia's Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi, NAIM Director Hristo Popov, the directors of nearly a dozen of the participating museums, and Skopje's Archaeological Museum Director Slavica Bambova.

Krastev is scheduled to pay floral tribute to the tomb of Gotse Delchev and to visit the Bulgarian Culture and Information Centre in Skopje.
