site.bta2019 Foreign Direct Investment in Non-Financial Sector Totals EUR 25,427 Bln

August 31 (BTA) - Early estimates show that foreign
direct investment (FDI) in Bulgaria's non-financial sector in
2019 amounted to 25,427 billion euro at current prices, the
National Statistical Institute (NSI) reported on Monday.

FDI was largest in industry, at 11,422 billion euro, followed by
 services (trade; motor vehicles repair; transport, storage and
posts; hotels and restaurants), at 5,978 billion euro.

Compared to 2018, the share of industry in total annual FDI in
2019  increased by 1 percentage point.

Also citing early estimates, the NSI said that expenditures for
the acquisition of tangible fixed assets (TFA) in the Bulgarian
economy in 2019 amounted to 21,769 billion leva at current
prices.

The largest amount of TFA expenditures were made in industry, at
 6,000 billion leva, followed by services (trade; motor vehicles
 repair; transport, storage and posts; hotels and restaurants),
at 5,167 billion leva.

The share of industry and services in total annual TFA
expenditures shrank by 2.2 and 1.8 percentage points
respectively in 2019 compared with 2018, while an increase of
4.8 percentage points was reported in the share of buildings and
