site.btaBGN 1 Bln from 2024 Budget Envisaged for Municipal Projects - Finance Minister

A total of BGN 1 billion from the 2024 State Budged is envisaged for municipal projects, said Finance Minister Assen Vassilev at a working meeting with the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB) on the subject of next year's budget, the Ministry of Finance said.

The Minister introduced the macro-framework of the budget for next year, which envisages a growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) by 3.2%, an average annual inflation of 4.8% and a deficit of 3% of GDP.

The budgetary parameters of the financing of activities delegated by the State, as well as transfers for local activities and capital expenditures were discussed at the meeting. Vassilev asked for information from the NAMRB on the state of the public transport and school bus fleet with a view to finding funds to replace the buses with electric ones, in order to reduce the costs of maintenance and operation of the old vehicles and as a measure to increase the cleanliness of the air, said the Ministry of Finance.
