The Burgas Photography Community opened its fifteenth annual exhibition in the exhibition hall of the Burgas Artists' Association .

Hristo Stefanov, a photographer of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA), participated for the first time and presented two of his abstract works. One is a still life entitled "Flying Attempt" and the other is a landscape which he has named "Nothing Falls".

On display are 55 photographs that represent the different views captured by the lenses of each of the 18 artists included. "The exhibit is all-encompassing because they each shoot in different styles, but because it's annual, we don't focus on a specific subject matter. This, in turn, makes it interesting for the viewers, because everyone can find something interesting for themselves," the current chair of the Burgas Photography Community told BTA.

Among the pictures one can see portraits of ballerinas, pictures of naked bodies, birds, nestinari dancers, kukeri, classical still lifes, seascapes near Burgas and Rezovo, as well as views from the country such as from Pirin or from the submerged church in the  Zhrebchevo dam, but also from travels abroad such as photographs from Sudan and from Lake Lugano between Switzerland and Italy.

In addition to Hristo Stefanov, the exhibition also includes photographs by Stefka Delcheva, Georgi Ivanov, Dragomir Georgiev, Svetlin Yosifov, Antoaneta Bogdanova, Milen Dobrev, Vasil Nanev, Krasimir Kolev, Etelka Pireva, Venelin Todorov, Zhecho Planinsky, Alexander Stoyanov, Konstantin Kostadinov, Dimitrina Andreeva, Pavlina Ivanova and Stanislav Lazarov. Most of the authors attended the opening.

The Mayor of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov, addressed the participants: "You are the advertising apostles of Burgas. You present the details of Burgas so beautifully, even when they are not so beautiful, that you make the city even more colorful, even more sought after and desirable. We use a lot of your photographs in our daily life and in the presentation of Burgas, and I understand that you are growing in membership, which is wonderful."

Currently, a total of 33 photographers are members of the Burgas Photography Community. The association was officially founded in 2008, but formally existed long before that, Dimitrina Andreeva told BTA. "Some of the founders are still its members, but we are glad that more and more young authors are joining. This is a privilege for us, because in today's fast-paced and dynamic world, this is a positive trend," said Dimitrina Andreeva.

The exhibition will be on display at the Burgas Artists’ Association until September 30.
