site.btaGross External Debt Reaches EUR 36 Bln at End-August

Sofia, October 28 (BTA) - Bulgaria's gross external debt
amounted to 36,020.8 million euro (63.5 per cent of GDP) at
end-August 2020, growing by 842.6 million euro (2.4 per cent)
from end-2019 (35,178.2 million euro, 57.4 per cent of GDP). On
a year-on-year basis, gross external debt grew by 1,188 million
euro (3.4 per cent) from August 2019 (34,832.9 million euro,
56.9 per cent of GDP).

Long-term liabilities totalled 27,749 million euro (77 per cent
of the total debt, 48.9 per cent of GDP) at end-August 2020,
growing by 1,393.6 million euro (5.3 per cent) from August 2019.

General government's gross external debt totalled 5,665.4
million euro (10 per cent of GDP) at end-August 2020. On a
year-on-year basis, general government's debt increased by 249.2
 million euro (4.6 per cent).

Banks' external debt totalled 4,788.1 million euro (8.4 per cent
 of GDP). On a year-on-year basis, banks' debt increased by
226.8 million euro (5 per cent). RY/VE
