Twenty young people from the Taraclia region, Moldova, which is mostly inhabited by ethnic Bulgarians, are visiting Ruse, on the Danube, between August 9 and 14. The arrival of the children in their ancestral homeland is the result of cooperation between Ruse Mayor Pencho Milkov and Taraclia Region Chairman Ivan Paslar
"Our relationship with the Bulgarian diaspora is sacred and we must keep it alive every day. These children deserve it," Milkov wrote on Facebook. He also said that a cultural and entertainment program is planned for the Bulgarians from Taraclia, including sightseeing in the city of Ruse and its surroundings, a tour of the city centre and a visit to buildings of historical and cultural importance.
"We highly value the friendship with the Taraclia region and based on our good relations, we will be happy to continue the development of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation," read the invitation from the Municipality of Ruse.
