A tandem from Shumen, Martin Surilov and Zdravko Zdravkov (Citroen C3 Rally 2), won the 52nd Old Capitals Rally, which ended on Sunday.
The last speed stage of the competition was won by Plamen Staikov and Rafi Kadir (Skoda Fabia R5) with a lead of 1.5 seconds. This proved insufficient for them to offset the overall lead of Surilov and Zdravkov, so the Skoda crew placed 3.5 seconds behind. Miroslav Angelov and Georgi Gadzhev (Skoda Fabia Rally 2 Evo) ranked third, 2:15.9 minutes behind the winners.
Mario Popov/Hristo Arsov, Tanyo Penchev/Dimitar Penchev and Rumen Dimitrov/Evgenia Koleva dropped out of the race due to technical glitches.
A total of 25 crews competed in the Old Capitals Rally. The speed stages aggregated 100.12 km in length. The award ceremony was held outside Arena Shumen.
