Sofia, December 15 (BTA) - The first COVID vaccination centre
has been set up in Sofia. It is located across the street from
the Sofia Health Inspectorate and was inspected Tuesday by the
Health Minister, the Health Inspectorate chief and the Sofia
Mayor. This is where the first group of people entitled to get
COVID vaccines - medics, dentists and pharmacists - will get the
 jab beginning in early 2021.

The vaccination centre will be open between 6:30 in the morning
to 8:30 in the evening. 

There is readiness to open two more vaccination cetres in the
parking lots of large supermarkets, and hospital workers will be
 vaccinated in the hospitals where they work.

It transpired on Monday that 33 per cent of medics have enlisted
 for vaccination. Health Minister Kostadin Angelov said more are
 expected to enlist as it is an ongoing process.

He said that the authorities are preparing an informed consent
form where all questions people may have about the vaccine, will
 be answered.

By the end of this week, the managers of the six regional health
 inspectorates in Bulgaria are expected to prepare vaccination
roadmaps for each region based on its specifics, and vaccination
 centres like the one in Sofia will be set up where necessary.

The Minister said that the expectations are that such
vaccination centres will be set up in large cities.

Meeting with the leadership of the Bulgarian Medical Association
 (BMA) earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said
that the authorities will make sure the doctors are informed
about all there is to know about the COVID vaccines.

The Prime Minister also discussed with BMA technicalities about
the upcoming introduction of antigen tests as an official
diagnostic tool for COVID and electronic prescriptions, as well
as ways to improve communication between the BMA and the
