Almost half of Bulgarians (48%) approve measures taken by the EU to support Ukraine and Ukrainians. Some 41% of Bulgarians disapprove, while 11% do not know where their opinion lies, according to a Eurobarometer survey, presented by the European Commission on Monday.

In comparison, 56% of EU respondents are satisfied with the EU’s response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, 38% are dissatisfied and 6% do not know. 54% of Europeans are satisfied with the response by their national government, 41% are dissatisfied and 5% do not know.

A total of 35% of people in Bulgaria expressed satisfaction with the measures taken by the national government (compared to 56% who are dissatisfied and 9% who do not know).

A total of 64% of Bulgarians (compared to 86% of all Europeans) approve receiving refugees form Ukraine. Providing European financial assistance to Kyiv is supported by 54% of the respondents in Bulgaria and 75% in the rest of the EU. Sanctions against Russia have 72% support in the EU (46% in Bulgaria).
