site.btaPresident Rumen Radev Imposes Veto on Revisions to Judicial System Act Relevant to National Investigation Service

President Rumen Radev imposed a veto on the Act to Amend and Supplement the Judicial System Act passed by the 49th National Assembly on June 2, 2023, the press office of the head of State said Wednesday.

The contested dispositions provide for the separation of the Director of the National Investigation Service and the investigative departments of the prosecutor's offices into independent bodies. So far the service was headed by the prosecutor general, directly or through the director who was concurrently deputy prosecutor general.
