The mono-performance looks at the fears that suppress us, make us forget who we are and lose ourselves until they finally consume us

Polly Hristova's mono-performance "The Flight of the Mole" won two awards at the Polish festival Teatr Lalki i Aktora w Lomzy [Puppet and Actor Theatre in Lomza, Northeastern Poland], director Veselka Kuncheva said. The awards are for directing and acting.

"The Flight of the Mole" premiered on March 1, 2022. The one-man show for adults was produced by the Puppet's Lab theatre company, which is based on the tandem of director Veselka Kuncheva and Marieta Golomehova. The text is by Polina Hristova and the verses and directing, by Veselka Kuncheva. The scenography and the puppets were made by Marieta Golomehova. The music for the performance was written by Milen Apostolov. The choreography is Nadezhda Dicheva's work.

The idea for the performance was born during the pandemic, inspired by the way it affects the human psyche. The performance looks at the fears that suppress our essence, making us forget who we are and lose ourselves until they finally consume us, the team said.
