President Radev to Present State Awards for Contribution to Promotion of Bulgarian Cultural, Historical Heritage

President Rumen Radev will confer state awards on Secretary General of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Zurab Pololikashvili and Prof. Alessandra Priante, Director of the Europe Department of the organization, at a ceremony in the Coat of Arms Hall at the President’s administration building, Radev’s press secretariat said on Wednesday.

Zurab Pololikashvili will be awarded the Order of Saints Cyril and Methodius, 1st Class, for his great services to the promotion of Bulgarian cultural and historical heritage and culture. He has been the Secretary General of UNWTO since 2018.

President Radev will confer on Prof. Alessandra Priante the Order of Saints Cyril and Methodius, 2nd Class, for promoting Bulgarian heritage and culture.

The head of State is also scheduled to hold a meeting with the two guests, who are in Bulgaria to take part in the 68th meeting of the UNWTO Commission for Europe (CEU), which brings together delegations from nearly 40 countries.

The decrees for the presentation of the awards were issued on May 26 and were promulgated in the State Gazette on May 30.
