Croatian President Zoran Milanovic Thursday gave a talk on "Geopolitics and Economics" at the St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia, its press office said.

The Sofia University Rector, Prof. Anastas Gerdjikov, briefly introduced the Croatian President to the audience.

Milanovic talked about the principles that he lives by and fights for. He said he had witnessed the process of Croatia's EU accession and elaborated on the changes  which have taken place in his country since this anticipated accession to a new world of progress, new opportunities, independence and shared values. He also discussed the difficulties and challenges that arose afterwards.

President Zoran Milanovic answered students' questions about the main threats to international relations in the Balkans, the new global multipolar model and the possible implications for the Balkan countries.

Before the discussion, Milanovic and his wife met with Prof. Gerdjikov.
