site.bta Yana Lubenova Dedicates "The Power of the Root" Exhibition to Bulgarians Abroad

 Yana Lubenova is staging The Power of the Root exhibition at Sofia's Nuance Art Gallery between May 30 and June 18, the organizers said.

The exhibition is dedicated to Bulgarian expats. "We all have friends and relatives who have had to leave Bulgaria, whether for career advancement or in search of a better life for their family and children. Many of those people love their homeland and think of it. We Bulgarians have a very strong bond with our land, like a tree which puts down roots in the soil. A bagpipe tune or an old Bulgarian song often creeps into our heads. I too have lived abroad and am very familiar with the feeling of loneliness, despite all the comforts," Lubenova says.

The artist was born in the northeastern town of Targovishte in 1989. She has participated in more than 70 group exhibitions and competitions in Bulgaria.
