site.btaBulgaria Joins 2023 EUROPA Stamps Theme in Support of Ukraine

Bulgaria is joining a Europe Day initiative of European postal operators, the 2023 EUROPA Stamps, demonstrating their solidarity with Ukraine during a time of war, the Transport and Communications Ministry said. The stamps will feature a common design motif based on the theme of "PEACE - the highest value of humanity".

The idea to launch this theme came from the designated postal operator of Ukraine, JSC Ukrposhta. The winning design from Post Luxembourg has been adopted by the PostEurop Members. "The New Peace Symbol" was selected out of 29 entries submitted during the 2023 EUROPA design competition.

Bulgaria has contributed a set, the second part of which features a Bulgarian embroidery as a symbol of national identity.

The set will be launched in Sofia on May 26.
