The Council of Ministers appointed Rico Paolo Ledesma as Bulgaria's new Honorary Consul in the Philippines with his seat in Manila and a consular district covering the territory of the Republic of the Philippines. It is an important partner to Bulgaria in Asia. This year the two countries mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the Government Information Service said.

Ledesma's appointment is expected to ensure continuity of the Honorary Consulate's functions and to boost the development of the significant potential of bilateral trade and economic relations, as well as the expansion of cooperation in other areas of mutual interest.
